Commemoration of the 400th Anniversary of the Sailing of the Mayflower

On the actual 400th anniversary of the sailing of the Mayflower (and the Speedwell) destined for North America, there will be a public commemoration held at, and around, the Mayflower Monument that stands opposite Mayflower Park in Southampton.

The event will be led by local dignitaries and representative faiths who will share with all attendees our collective pride that Southampton was chosen as the port of departure because it was thought of, both then and now, as the Safe Harbour.

The event is being organised by the Southampton Heritage Federation as part of the Mayflower 400 Anniversary Programme in Southampton.
