Mayflower 400 - The Story So Far
Mayflower 400 revisit our anniversary year so far in this video with a look back at the commemoration in 2020.
'Mayflower 400 - The Story So Far' looks at the events, projects and stories that have taken place and developed despite the challenges of the global pandemic - including the unveiling of the Speedwell light installation and the opening of The Box in Plymouth, Christopher Jones' house opening in Harwich and the creation of the Wampum Belt touring exhibition that started in Southampton, amongst others.
There has also been the re-launch of the Mayflower II and the naming of the new Mayflower Autonomous Ship on September 16, 2020 - the 400-year anniversary of the original Mayflower leaving Plymouth, UK.
The short film will show how this anniversary year has considered the impacts the historic voyage had, particularly the consequences of colonialism on the Native American tribal nations, telling the story from multiple angles for the first time.
