Meet the people who are bringing The Hatchling to Plymouth

The Hatchling is one of the most eagerly anticipated events of the Mayflower 400 programme.

This giant puppet in the form of a dragon will take to the streets and skies over Plymouth during the 28-29 August Bank Holiday weekend.

The mysterious and beautiful creature will hatch and roam through the city, before taking flight from the coast in a unique feat of artistry and engineering.

Taller than a double-decker bus, The Hatchling has been conceived by Angie Bual, Artistic Director of Trigger, the Bristol-based producers of extraordinary theatrical projects.

The Hatchling has been made possible thanks to public funding from The National Lottery through Arts Council England and support from Plymouth City Council and Mayflower 400 UK, and will be delivered in collaboration with a range of other supporters and event partners

Watch our short film below and meet the people who made her.
