Bassetlaw Museum - Open Art Exhibitions

Bassetlaw Museum invites individuals of all ages from Nottinghamshire and the neighbouring counties to exhibit new work in the Percy Laws Gallery.

Inspired by the Mayflower 400 anniversary, the Museum is encouraging entries that relate to the following themes:

  • Journeys - which could be as broadly interpreted as you wish. Exhibition dates: Saturday, 18 July to Saturday, 10 October 2020.
  • Where It Began - an interpretation of the Mayflower story in the local area. Exhibition dates: Saturday, 17 October 2020 to Saturday, 9 January 2021.

It is free to enter; not all submissions may be selected and artists must be available deliver and collect their work from the Museum.

Paintings, drawings, prints, photographs, mixed media work, textiles, poetry and 3D artworks will be accepted (3D works to be no bigger than 20cm high).

The Museum will also be organising a series of exciting Mayflower 400 workshops which are open to all. It is encouraging people to attend these workshops and use them as an inspiration for their entries.
