The Hive

The Hive is the first fully-integrated public and university library in Europe, and home to a rich variety of resources and facilities for residents, students and visitors who wish to read, study, research, learn, or maybe just meet with friends.

With around a quarter-of-a-million books, there’s something for everyone, while The Hive also has a superb collection of e-resources to help you find the answers to your questions.

Gaming stations and social learning areas, full wireless coverage and more than 250 desktop computers provide plenty of spaces for leisure and study.

Seating ranges from comfortable sofas and easy chairs to formal study areas, so there are plenty of places from which to choose, whether you want to relax or work.

Meanwhile, the children’s library is a story-telling space, with computers and many, many books.

A varied programme of arts, cultural and educational events and activities for all ages will ensure that The Hive is a place for everyone to learn, enjoy and discover.
