A Gloucestershire-based tourism company is in the running to be named one of the best rural businesses in the UK.

Uncover Britain Road Trips - whose Mayflower Footsteps & Roots Road Trip Tour offers the opportunity to uncover the full Mayflower story - has been shortlisted for a South West regional Rural Business Award for Best Rural Tourism Business.

The leading firm will battle it out against fellow rural businesses, entrepreneurs and enterprises from across the region for a place at the national final.

The regional final will be held virtually in October 2021, with the National Final taking place early next year.

Uncover Britain Road Trips was launched during the pandemic with the intent of providing inspiration, know-how, tops tips and hidden gems as themed guides for those new to campervanning and motorhoming as well experienced road-trippers looking for new ideas.

Uncover Britain Road Trips is based in rural Gloucestershire and currently offers guides around the South West, south coast and Midlands. The team are also looking to expand.

"On behalf of everyone at the Rural Business Awards, we want to say well done to Uncover Britain Road Trips and wish them luck ahead of the regional finals."

The Rural Business Awards is the brainchild of Leicestershire businesswomen Anna Price and Jemma Clifford, who wanted to showcase the wealth of entrepreneurial talent in rural areas of Britain.
