Take on the Mayflower ‘400 Mile’ Challenge and stay active during lockdown

May 13, 2020

Unity Through Sport, in association with Mayflower 400, is inviting people to take up the challenge of doing 400 miles in 66 days.

The Mayflower ‘400 Mile’ Challenge is designed to get people active during lockdown as well as commemorate the sailing of the Mayflower from Plymouth to America in 1620.

You can either carry out the challenge on your own or in groups, but however you do it, you must complete your challenge in 66 days - the same amount of time it took the Pilgrims to cross the Atlantic. You could:

  • Cycle on your own.
  • Run in groups (obviously abiding to social distancing rules).
  • Stay at home and walk up your stairs with your family.
  • You could even attempt 400 sit-ups, press-ups or skipping reps in 66 days.

Whatever you do, please tell us you are doing the challenge and make sure you record your achievement and share them with us using the hashtag #UTSMayflower400milesChallenge.

The best effort will win a prize, and for more information message Maddy here or call 07812 591864.

We are also running along side this campaign a CrowdFunder to raise £400 so we can start a new children’s basketball team called the 'UTB Pilgrims’. The money raised will go towards new kit and training equipment for when it is finally safe to go back to playing basketball. You can make a donation here.
