A new series of walking tours that explore the remarkable history of Plymouth and follow in the footsteps of the Mayflower Pilgrims launches in Plymouth this week.
Devon and Cornwall Tour Guides begin the new guided tours on Thursday, August 1, with two different options for visitors.
Their expert guides can either take you around the cobbled streets of the Barbican, filled with history and stories of dashing captains and ruthless pirates - as well as seeing where the Pilgrims walked before boarding the Mayflower, their final stop before for the New World. The 15th and 16th century buildings, tales of Sir Francis Drake and the stunning views make this an absorbing tour.
Or join the City Centre and Waterfront tour where you'll admire the magnificent Plymouth Hoe, iconic Smeaton's Tower and the glorious waterside vista before strolling around the vibrant City Centre.
Whichever tour you choose, the tour guides come armed with fascinating knowledge of the maritime city's favourite sights.
They are the only regularly scheduled walking tours in Plymouth and last approximately one hour, groups and individuals are welcome. Prices and booking details can be viewed at plymouthtourguides.co.uk
You'll be the first to hear the latest Mayflower news, events, and more.
