Cultural Producer Job - Plymouth

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced, enthusiastic and dynamic Cultural Producer, based in the South West working with the Mayflower 400 program. This role is on a fixed term contract, running right up to December 2020, 3 days a week and boasts an impressive salary of up to £31k.

Based in Plymouth, Britain's Ocean City you will focus on pulling the Mayflower 400 cultural projects together into a cohesive and impactful whole. Forming a remarkable programme, that reaches and engages across Plymouth residents and shapes perceptions of Plymouth nationally and internationally. You will also ensure effective delivery of Mayflower funded or supported projects, connecting projects where appropriate.

You will report directly to the Chief Executive for Mayflower 400 and Destination Plymouth and very closely with the Executive Director of Plymouth Culture to ensure that the strategic projects are delivered with clear milestones and schedules, so that the programme for Mayflower 400 is successful. The role will involve working in a highly effective way across a range of creative organisations, artists and stakeholders at a local and national level.

To be part of this historical venture, you should also hold the following skills and capabilities;

  • Qualified to degree level.
  • Sound knowledge of arts and culture project work, process review and improvement techniques. Specific knowledge of production of arts and culture based projects.
  • Experience of working across a range of diverse organisations with a range of stakeholders in arts and culture.
  • Experience of working in a production role on large creative projects including work in the public realm.
  • Delivering arts and culture strategic projects.
  • Proven ability to work across multiple creative and cultural organisations and stakeholders, using engagement and credibility to lead across partnerships.
  • Delivering reports based on research and analysis.
  • An ability to lead and work as a contributing member of a team, whilst at the same time being self-motivating and self-reliant.
  • Proven verbal and written communication skills.
