Illuminate Rotherhithe will return to the London borough again in 2019 as part of the launch of the Mayflower 400 commemoration year around the globe.
Illuminate Rotherhithe is a free autumn festival inspired by the histories of the Thames, the docks and migration. The event features a lantern procession and lantern-making workshops. Now in it’s 3rd successful year, Illuminate Rotherhithe is expanding into Bermondsey with a new procession route from the Blue Market and joining the Rotherhithe Procession for a celebration at St. James Church.
The two symbolic lantern processions will take place on Friday, November 29.
Rotherhithe Lantern Procession assembles from 4-4.30pm at St Mary’s Churchyard Gardens, Rotherhithe, arriving St James’s Churchyard Gardens, Bermondsey.
Bermondsey Lantern Procession assembles from 3.30 at The Blue, Market Place, Bermondsey, arriving St James’ church.

Lanterns are being made with local schools and community groups.
