Illuminate Bawtry and Austerfield

Commemorating Austerfield and Bawtry’s 400-year-old connections with the Pilgrims and the sailing of the Mayflower. This great local event includes:

  • A community street parade in Bawtry, led by a great Mayflower boat sculpture
  • Workshops in October half term for children and families to help make the great Mayflower boat!
  • An open air-service (weather permitting) in Bawtry, and a benefice service in Austerfield
  • Music, arts and entertainment
  • Food and refreshments
  • Local school workshops for children to create lanterns for the event
